Deng Jieru, born in February 1893 in Tianjin, was a pioneer of the Chinese women's movement. She completed her studies at Beiyang Women's Normal School and became an educator and an active advocate for women's emancipation.

In her youth, Deng Jieru embraced progressive ideas and promoted women's liberation, dedicating herself to improving women's rights. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, she showed great patriotism, actively participated in anti-war activities, and supported her four children in joining the fight against Japan and in the national salvation efforts.

Among her family members, Wang Guangyin served as Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and Wang Guangmei was the wife of President Liu Shaoqi. Her children include Wang Guangfu, who distinguished himself during the war by shooting down eight and a half Japanese planes, making him one of the pilots with the most Japanese aircraft shot down at that time.

Deng Jieru also held a certain influence in Beijing's political and social life. She was elected multiple times as a delegate to the First, Second, and Third People's Congresses of Beijing, as well as a member of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

On August 20, 1949, Deng Jieru established the "Jieru Nursery" in her residence, an institution providing care for infants and young children of the People's Liberation Army and Communist Party workers. In the historical context of welcoming the founding of New China, her initiative helped lighten the family burdens of many cadres moving to the city.

Over time, the nursery was renamed "Jieru Kindergarten" in 2002 and relocated to the Financial Street in Xicheng District, Beijing, providing early childhood education services to the local community.

Deng Jieru's life reflected her contributions to the nation, family, and women's emancipation. She passed away in July 1972.
