Introduction

Wang Guangfu (1916 – July 9, 2008), whose ancestral home is in Tianjin, was born in the Jingzhao region (later renamed Beiping City). During the Chinese War of Resistance Against Japan, he was a top fighter pilot in the Republic of China's Air Force. He shot down a total of 8.5 enemy aircraft, including 6.5 while serving in the China-U.S. Air Force Mixed Group. He was awarded the Eighth Class Order and, along with Gao Youxin, was the second-highest scoring pilot in the Nationalist Air Force. At the time of the victory in the war, he was the captain of the 7th Squadron in the 3rd Brigade of the Air Force.
