Introduction
Constance Stanley, Countess of Derby, was the wife of Frederick Stanley, the 16th Earl of Derby. She was the daughter of Edward Smith-Stanley, the 14th Earl of Derby, a British politician who lived from 1799 to 1869. Constance lived from 1840 to 1922. Frederick Stanley, her husband, was also a British politician and is known for founding the Stanley Cup; he lived from 1841 to 1908.
