Yang Jianguo

Yang Jianguo, born in 1974 in Baoding, Hebei Province, is close in age to his twin brother Yang Jianzhong. In his early years he farmed in Nanshaozhuang Village, Xushui County. He and his brother later decided to become carpenters and traveled around seeking work. The brothers worked as carpenters in Beijing, and on that basis developed a business producing steel wire ropes.

In the late 1980s the Yang brothers founded the Yingchun Rope-Insertion Machine Factory with an investment of 2,000 yuan to manufacture sleeve-inserting machines. Because the product was difficult to sell in Hebei, the brothers rode bicycles to Beijing to promote it and sold their machines to the Beijing Erqi Vehicle Factory. They then gradually expanded their activities into producing steel wire rope and opened up additional markets.

In 1992, building on their raw materials and equipment base, they established the Feima Lifting Equipment Factory and moved the plant to the county seat, expanding it year by year. By 1993 the enterprise achieved an annual output value of 3 million yuan, becoming one of the area's earlier million-yuan enterprises, and Yang Jianguo emerged as a representative entrepreneur of Xushui County.

From 1994 the business expanded outward. The brothers set up a rigging sales company in Shanghai; it initially suffered losses due to unfamiliarity with the market but later became profitable. In 1997 the company was renamed Juli Group Co., Ltd. and continued to grow. In 2004 Juli Rigging Co., Ltd. was established in Xushui District, Baoding, Hebei, and in 2010 it was listed on the SME board, marking a significant milestone in the company’s scale.

Yang Jianguo has held multiple positions in the company. He formerly served as president of Juli Rigging, and in March 2012 he resigned from the president post. From 2016 he served as a non-independent director on the fifth board of Juli Group. In 2019 he became chairman of Liulingzui Brewing Co., Ltd. In 2020 he again became the legal representative of Juli Rigging. As of 2024 he serves as vice chairman of Juli Group Co., Ltd. and chairman of Liulingzui Brewing Co., Ltd.

Family-wise, Yang Jianguo is one of five siblings who live together. His mother, Liu Liqin, and other family members hold certain shares and managerial positions in the business. His brother Yang Jianzhong is the group chairman, Yang Huide is a vice chairman, and a younger brother, Yang Zi, is chairman of Juli Film & Media Co., Ltd. Yang Jianguo divorced his ex-wife Zhang Hong and has a son and a daughter, both of whom hold positions in the company.

In public life, he has been elected several times as a member of the Hebei Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and has received honors including Hebei’s Top Ten Outstanding Youth. His personal interests include playing billiards.
