Introduction
Queen Chun, of the Chen family, was born in 1286 and died in 1344. She was the wife of Ming Ren Zu Zhu Shizhen and also the mother of Ming Taizu Zhu Yuanzhang. Her father was Lord Chen. There are few records about her deeds; it is known that she was married to Ming Ren Zu and had four sons: Zhu Xinglong, Zhu Xingsheng, Zhu Xingzu, and Zhu Yuanzhang. In 1363, during the ninth year of Han Lin'er’s reign, she was posthumously awarded titles including Zhu Wusi Kaifu Yitongsixing, Shangzhuguo, Lujun Guozhongshi, Zhongshu Right Chancellor, Grand Marshal, and Duke of Wu. She was also posthumously honored as the lady consort. In 1368, Ming Taizu posthumously conferred upon her the title of Queen Chun.
