Introduction
Ichijō Tadayoshi (一条 忠良) was born on May 2, 1774, and died on July 5, 1837. He was a Japanese court noble (kugyō) during the Edo period (1603–1868). He was the son of Ichijō Teruyoshi, who held the position of regent.
Tadayoshi served as kampaku, a regent position for the emperor, from 1814 to 1823. His family background includes his mother, Tokugawa Atsuko, and his father, Ichijō Teruyoshi.
He was married to Hosokawa Tomiko, a daughter of Hosokawa Narishige, who was the eighth head of the Kumamoto Domain.
His children included:
- Ichijō Sanemichi (1788–1805), with his wife Tomiko.
- Hideko (1825–1850), also with Tomiko.
- Ichijō Tadaka (1812–1863), with Tomiko.
- Koga Takemichi (1815–1903), with Tomiko.
