Introduction
Ichijō Teruyoshi (一条 輝良) was born on November 28, 1756, and died on November 25, 1795. He was a Japanese kugyō, or court noble, during the Edo period (1603–1868). He was the son of regent Ichijō Michika.
He held the position of kampaku, a regent for an emperor who was an adult, from 1791 until 1795.
His familial relations include his mother, Ikeda Shizuko, and his wife, Tokugawa Atsuko, who was a daughter of Tokugawa Shigenori, the eighth head of Wakayama Domain.
Ichijō Teruyoshi and Tokugawa Atsuko had one daughter and two sons. Their children included Ichijō Tadayoshi. One of his other sons was adopted by the Saionji family and became known as Saionji Sanetsugu.
His children with Tokugawa Atsuko included:
- Ichijō Tadayoshi
- A son adopted by the Saionji family, known as Saionji Sanetsugu (1778–1787)
- Kazuko, who married Sanjo Ukinosa
- Teruko, who married Prince Fushimi-no-miya Sadayuki
