Introduction
Consort Rong (Chinese: 榮妃 馬佳氏; died 26 April 1727) was a consort of the Kangxi Emperor of the Qing Dynasty. She belonged to the Manchu Magiya clan, which was part of the Plain Yellow Banner. Her personal name and birth date are not recorded in historical sources.
Her father was Gaise (該色), and she was a descendant of Tuhai (图海), who served as a grand tutor to the crown prince and held the title of first class Zhongda duke. Specific details regarding her early life and date of entry into the imperial palace are not documented. It is presumed that she became a concubine of the Kangxi Emperor prior to his marriage to Empress Xiaochengren.
During her tenure as a concubine, she bore multiple children to the Emperor. On 5 November 1667, she gave birth to her first son, Chengrui, who died prematurely on 10 July 1670. She also delivered her fourth son, Saiyinchahun, on 24 January 1672, who died on 6 March 1674; her third daughter, Princess Rongxian, on 20 June 1673; her sixth son, who died shortly after birth, on 11 May 1674; her eighth son, who died prematurely, on 27 April 1677; and her tenth (also considered third) son, Yunzhi, on 23 March 1677, who later became Prince Cheng and lived until 10 July 1732. She was one of only two consorts of the Kangxi Emperor to have borne more than six children, alongside Empress Xiaogongren.
In August 1677, following the elevation of Lady Niohuru to Empress, Lady Magiya and three other concubines were promoted to the rank of "Imperial Concubines." In December 1681, Lady Tong was promoted to "Imperial Noble Consort," and Lady Magiya and other consorts received the title "Consort." Kangxi decreed that after his death, his sons could reside in their respective mothers' homes, although they maintained the practice of entering the palace monthly to greet the Emperor Yongzheng and pay respects to the empress.
During the Yongzheng Emperor's reign, Lady Magiya moved to the residence of her son, Yunzhi, Prince Cheng, in his manor. She died outside the palace in the fifth year of Yongzheng's reign.
Her titles evolved during her lifetime: she was known as Lady Magiya during the reigns of the Shunzhi and Kangxi emperors, promoted to Concubine Rong (榮嬪) in August 1677, and later to Consort Rong (榮妃) in 1681.
Her issue includes:
- Chengrui (承瑞), first son, born 5 November 1667, died 10 July 1670
- Saiyinchahun (賽音察渾), fourth son, born 24 January 1672, died 6 March 1674

- Changhua (長華), sixth son, born 11 May 1674
- Changsheng (長生), eighth son, born 10 September 1675, died 27 April 1677
- Yunzhi, Prince Cheng (誠隱郡王 允祉), tenth (third) son, born 23 March 1677, died 10 July 1732
