Introduction
Chiyoko Konoe (January 11, 1896 – September 15, 1980) was a Japanese politician and the wife of Fumimaro Konoe. She was born as the second daughter of the Viscount Takafusa Mōri of Hyogo Prefecture. Her mother was the adopted daughter of Viscount Naoyasu Ii, and her maternal grandmother was Kensako, daughter of Naomasa Ii.
Educational background includes graduation from Gakushuin Girls' School. During the pre-war period, she enjoyed golf as a hobby and was known for her energetic personality, even scolding burglars who intruded into her home with a masculine attitude.
Chiyoko Konoe married Fumimaro Konoe in a love match. They had four children together—two sons and two daughters. Their children were named Buntaka, Akiko, Shōko (who became the wife of Morihiro Hozumi), and Tsūryū.
After Fumimaro Konoe's suicide in 1945 (Showa 20), she was involved in the management and preservation of Ogigairō. She passed away at the age of 84.
