Introduction
Takatsukasa Sukehiro (鷹司 輔煕) was born on December 5, 1807, and died on November 19, 1878. He was a Japanese court noble (kugyō) during the late Edo period (Tokugawa shogunate) and the early Meiji era.
He was the son of regent Masamichi. Takatsukasa Sukehiro held the position of Kampaku, a regent for the emperor, in 1863.
Following the death of his biological son Sukemasa at a young age, Sukehiro adopted Hiromichi, a son of Kujō Hisatada.
He retired from court duties in August 1872. Sukehiro passed away at the age of 70 in November 1878.
