Introduction
Lian Jianyi was once a cavalry captain in the Nationalist Army and participated in the Anti-Japanese War. After 1949, the Lian family moved back to Hong Kong, where Lian Jianyi enjoyed military privileges and opened a silk shop. The ancestors of the Lian family were once wealthy in Guangzhou, owning a five-story mansion and a silk shop. However, due to historical reasons, they fled to Hong Kong, and the family’s fortunes declined. Lian Jianyi's father was Major General Lan Yinnan of the Kuomintang. His children include Lan Huaying, Lan Zhenying, and Lan Tiexing. His daughter, Lan Qiong Ying, was the wife of Macau gambling king Stanley Ho. His grandchildren include Ho Yau Lung and others. Lan Qiong Ying has nine siblings.
