Katherine Kelso Cassatt

Katherine Kelso Cassatt, who lived from 1816 to 1895, was the mother of Alexander Cassatt, the seventh president of the Pennsylvania Railroad, and was the wife of James Buchanan, Sr. She was the mother-in-law of Marie Lois Buchanan Cassatt, daughter of Edward Young Buchanan, who was the son of James Buchanan, Sr. Marie Lois Buchanan Cassatt was the niece of President James Buchanan, who served as the United States president from 1857 to 1861, and also of the composer Stephen Foster.
