Introduction

Yan Aijuan, born in China, with an exact date of birth unknown. Her relationship with Sun Ke began in 1932, after they met in Shanghai through an introduction by one of Sun Ke's subordinates. The two lived together for nearly four years; during this period, Sun Ke served as the President of the Legislative Yuan and worked as a "personal secretary" in Nanjing. During this time, their relationship was close, and their lives were relatively stable.

In 1935, Sun Ke met the famous socialite Lan Ni in Shanghai's social circles, and the two developed romantic feelings. Subsequently, Sun Ke showed indifference toward Yan Aijuan and ultimately married Lan Ni as his second wife. At that time, Yan Aijuan was already pregnant. Facing Sun Ke’s change of heart and abandonment, she felt helpless.

The relationship between Sun Ke and Yan Aijuan did not end there. Yan refused to accept the breakup and attempted to defend her rights through legal means. She requested that Sun Ke provide financial support for her and their daughter, Sun SuFang. After mediation, Sun Ke agreed to pay part of the expenses. In March 1936, their daughter was born in Shanghai. Although they had separated, Yan Aijuan repeatedly tried to contact Sun Ke to request child support for their daughter.

During the Second Sino-Japanese War, Sun Ke moved to Chongqing with the National Government. Yan Aijuan sought his financial assistance multiple times but received unsatisfactory responses. Facing financial hardship, she remarried and raised her daughter Sun SuFang. After the war, Yan Aijuan once again contacted Sun Ke to seek support for her daughter's livelihood. Her brother, Yan Xinghua, traveled to Chongqing in 1945 and informed Sun Ke of the family situation. However, since Sun Ke already had a wife, Chen Shuying, and a second wife, Lan Ni, he was unable to fulfill her requests.

In 1946, Yan Aijuan took Sun SuFang to Taiwan. Later, Sun Ke resided in Hong Kong, and Yan Aijuan and her daughter often traveled there to seek child support from him. In 1950, in Hong Kong, Yan Aijuan accused Sun Ke of abandoning their daughter and demanded financial assistance. Sun Ke refused to pay child support. The two parties went through court mediation but failed to reach an agreement, and the case gradually reached an impasse. After Sun Ke moved to France, the case was ultimately discontinued.

Yan Aijuan's life was marked by repeated conflicts due to her relationship with Sun Ke, and her experiences drew widespread media attention at the time.
