Introduction
Wang Guosheng was the father of Wang Hongwen, a former senior political figure of the People’s Republic of China. He was a native of Kaiyuan Village, Xixin Township, Lvyuan District, Changchun City, Jilin Province, and was born into an ordinary farming family. In his early years, he worked as a farmer, leading a simple and hardworking rural life.
He was partially hearing-impaired but known for his calm and honest disposition. He relied on manual labor in agriculture to support his family, and the household lived under modest economic conditions, largely self-sufficient.
Wang Guosheng and his wife, Wang Yangshi, had five children—four sons and one daughter—with Wang Hongwen being the eldest. He shouldered the responsibility of providing for the family through continuous agricultural work.
During the Japanese occupation of Northeast China, the family faced severe hardship, yet Wang Guosheng persisted in farming to sustain their livelihood. He spent his entire life in the rural outskirts of Changchun and did not engage in any political or public activities.
