Introduction
Wang Hongquan was the younger brother of Wang Hongwen, a former political figure of the People’s Republic of China. He was born in Baijiatun, Xixin Township, Lvyuan District, Changchun City, Jilin Province, into an ordinary farming family. His parents, Wang Guosheng and Wang Yangshi, were local farmers who made their living through agricultural work.
As an adult, Wang Hongquan spent most of his life engaged in farming in his hometown, working as a rural laborer in Baijiatun. After the Cultural Revolution, he continued his agricultural life, with his family’s livelihood depending primarily on crop cultivation and manual labor.
He lived a simple and peaceful life, maintaining contact with his brothers and other family members but never taking part in political activities despite his brother Wang Hongwen’s high political status. His lifestyle remained that of a typical farmer in northeastern China.
In 1996, Wang Hongquan passed away from tuberculosis at around sixty years of age. He spent his entire life in the countryside, embodying the modest and hardworking character of rural people in that era.
