Hirofumi Nakasone (中曽根 弘文, Nakasone Hirofumi) was born on 28 November 1945 in Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture, Japan. He is a Japanese politician who has served in various governmental roles, including as Minister for Foreign Affairs from September 2008 to September 2009. He also held the position of Minister of Education under Prime Minister Yoshirō Mori. Nakasone is the son of former Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone.

He graduated from Keio University with a degree in Business and Commerce. Following his graduation, Nakasone briefly worked at Asahi Kasei before becoming involved in political activities as Special Assistant to his father, Yasuhiro Nakasone. He also served as Secretary to the President of the Liberal Democratic Party.

In 1986, Nakasone was elected to the House of Councillors, where he has held membership since that year. His governmental career includes appointment as the head of the Science and Technology Agency in early October 1999, under Prime Minister Keizō Obuchi. Subsequently, in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Tarō Asō, appointed on 24 September 2008, he was designated as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Nakasone is affiliated with Nippon Kaigi, an organization known for its revisionist positions. He chairs a commission established to consider measures aimed at restoring Japan's national honor regarding the issue of "comfort women."

In terms of international honors, Hirofumi Nakasone has received the Band of the Order of the Aztec Eagle from Mexico.
