Xi Zhongde (1885–1928), a native of Deng County, Henan Province, was the father of Xi Zhongxun, a prominent Chinese revolutionary. He married Chai Caihua in 1911, and together they had seven children, including their eldest son Xi Zhongxun.

Tall and broad-faced, Xi Zhongde was known for his generous yet upright character. He upheld the principle that “strictness is love, indulgence is harm,” and often taught his children to respect elders, care for the young, avoid fighting, and not use foul language. Family members recalled that whenever the children quarreled, a single cough from him would bring immediate silence.

In November 1928, Xi Zhongde died from illness brought on by overwork, at the young age of 43. His teachings and discipline left a lasting influence on his children.
