Lt. Col. Seth Smith

Lt. Col. Seth Smith was born in 1736 and died in 1820. He was the son of Elizabeth Smith, who was born on May 5, 1703, in Northampton, Massachusetts, and died on January 12, 1778, in Brattleboro. Elizabeth Smith’s lineage includes her parents Israel Smith, born on April 2, 1739, in Granby, Massachusetts, and died on June 7, 1811, in Bainbridge, New York, and Rutherford Hayes Jr., the son of Rutherford Hayes, who was born in 1787 and died in 1822. Chloe Smith, born on November 10, 1762, in South Hadley, Massachusetts, and died on February 17, 1847, in Brattleboro, was the daughter of Israel Smith. Rutherford B. Hayes, the 19th president of the United States serving from 1877 to 1881, was the son of Rutherford Hayes Jr.
