Wang Wei

Wang Wei is the wife of Wang Xiaozhi (formerly Xu Xiaoning), the grandson of Mao Zedong. She was born into a prominent political family and is the granddaughter of Bo Yibo, a senior leader of the Chinese Communist Party, making her part of the so-called ‘third red generation’ (Red Third Generation).

Wang Wei’s marriage to Wang Xiaozhi was arranged with the help of Liu Yuan, the son of Liu Shaoqi, and Bo Xicheng, both of whom served as matchmakers for the couple. Their union was seen as a symbolic alliance between two well-known revolutionary families with deep political roots.

After marriage, Wang Wei and Wang Xiaozhi had two daughters, named Wang Ruixue and Wang Haowen. The family leads a private life and rarely appears in public.

Wang Wei resides primarily in Beijing and maintains strong family connections across several prominent revolutionary lineages, reflecting her status within China’s elite ‘red’ political heritage.
