Elizabeth Strachey

Elizabeth Strachey is the daughter of John Strachey, a British politician and writer who lived from 1901 to 1963. Her mother, Esther Murphy Strachey, was an American academic, historian, and socialite who lived from 1897 to 1962. Esther Murphy Strachey was married to John Strachey and was previously married to Gavin Arthur, an American astrologer and sexologist (1901–1972), who was the son of Chester Alan Arthur II, an American sportsman and art connoisseur (1864–1937), and the grandson of Chester A. Arthur, who served as the President of the United States from 1881 to 1885.
