Introduction

Noble Consort Ronghui, also known as Consort Yang, whose birth and death years are unknown, died on February 1, 1535. She was a consort of Ming Emperor Mingxianzhong Zhu Jianshen, and the sister of Yang Jinzhi, a second-rank commanding officer of the Jinyiwei (Embroidered Uniform Guard). Yang entered the palace before the 20th year of the Chenghua reign (1484), and by the latest, on March 16, 1485 (the 21st year of Chenghua), she gave birth to her son Zhu Youran, the Jingjian Prince. On the tenth day of the first month of the 23rd year of Chenghua (1487), she gave birth to another son, Zhu Youkai, the Shenyi Prince. In the same year, she participated in the imperial ceremony for the coronation of Concubine Chen; her mother was Consort Rong, and Yang was promoted to Consort Gong. Her brother Yang Jin had been promoted in 1502 and requested reinstatement in 1507, which was granted. In 1521, Yang’s nephew Yang Rui was promoted to the chief qianhu of the Jinyiwei. Consort Gongyang passed away in 1535, and the next day, Emperor Mingshizong posthumously honored her with the title “Ronghui.” She was buried at Jinshan Kou, together with twelve other consorts, though the current condition of her tomb is difficult to determine.
