Introduction
Zhuang Jing'an Rong Fei, also known as Gao Shu Fei, was born in 1430 and died on March 9, 1511. Her ancestral origin was Shangyuan County, Nanjing, Ying Tian Prefecture, southern Zhili. She was the concubine of Ming Yingzong Zhu Qizhen, and bore him the fifth son, Zhu Jianshu (Prince Xiuhui), as well as the eleventh daughter, Princess Longqing Zhu Xuanzhen.
According to the "Ming Shilu," she was born around 1430 during the fifth year of the Xuande era. In the eighth year of Xuande (1433), she was selected to serve in the palace for Ming Yingzong. On the 21st day of the second month of the third year of Jingtai (March 12, 1452), she gave birth to her son Zhu Jianshu. In 1455, during Jingtai’s sixth year, she gave birth to her daughter Zhu Xuanzhen. In the first year of Tianshun (1457), Ming Yingzong officially conferred upon her the title of Concubine.
On the sixteenth day of the second month of the eighth year of Tianshun (1464), Ming Yingzong, on his deathbed, entrusted her affairs regarding her burial. After his death, she lived a life of mourning and did not follow the traditional ancient rites of accompanying her husband in death. She passed away on March 9, 1511, at the age of 82, with the posthumous title "Zhuang Jing An Rong."
She was buried in Jinshan, Beijing. Later that year, in July, Emperor Mu of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Houzhao, issued an edict stipulating that her rank be placed after Princess Hui Fei and granted her the posthumous title "Zhuang Jing An Rong."
