Linghu Route, born in 1954, hails from Pinglu County, Shanxi. She graduated from Shanxi Medical University with a degree in Clinical Medicine. She has worked as a doctor and served as the former Vice President of Yuncheng Central Hospital. She is the third sister of Ling Plan, and among the five siblings, she is the only one not to have changed her surname from "Linghu." In 1971, she attended Changle Middle School. After graduating from high school, she worked as a propagandist in a village as a dazi youth, and later she joined the Shanxi Fertilizer Plant in Pinglu County. In 1979, as a worker-peasant-soldier student, she was admitted to Shanxi Medical University. After graduation, she was assigned to Yuncheng Hospital, where she was promoted to Vice President. She emphasizes medical safety and has served as a deputy to the Yuncheng City People's Congress for three terms. In 2014, she still participated in hospital activities as a hospital leader. Linghu Route's husband is Wang Jiankang, the former Vice Mayor of Yuncheng. Her parents were grassroots officials in Shanxi; her father was a department-level cadre. The names of her siblings—“Route,” “Policy,” “Guideline,” etc.—are derived from political terms selected by her father from newspapers. In 2014, multiple members of the family were investigated for disciplinary violations.
