Introduction
Ling Huoye (1909 – March 29, 2015), childhood nickname Sixiang, courtesy name Zhichang, also known as Ye, was from Hongyang Village, Changle Town, Pinglu County, Shanxi Province. He was a pharmaceutical expert and served as the head of the Medical Department at the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Area Hospital. He was the father of high-ranking CCP officials Ling Zong and Ling Jinhua. He is considered to have had close associations with veteran CCP elder Bo Yibo and maintained good relations with Chang Zhiqing.
