Introduction
Lord George (April 17, 1692 – April 17, 1692), was born at Château de Saint, and was the second son of Queen Anne and her husband, the Duke of Cumberland, Prince George of Denmark and Norway. He died shortly after birth, surviving only a few minutes, and was buried at Westminster Abbey the next day. Queen Anne experienced multiple pregnancies after giving birth to Lord George, but most of the fetuses did not survive, either stillborn or dying shortly after birth. Her eldest brother, Prince William, Duke of Gloucester, died at the age of 11 in 1700, which led to Queen Anne losing the ability to have children. This series of tragic deaths ultimately contributed to the unification of England and Scotland in 1707, forming the Kingdom of Great Britain.
