Zhu Zigui, also known as Zhu Changfan, was the younger brother of Zhu Changlin and a seventh-generation descendant of Zhu Xiaolu, the tenth-generation grandson of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang, founder of the Ming dynasty.
He had three sons, the youngest of whom, Zhu Fangxu, became the grandfather of Zhu Rongji, former Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China.
As a member of the lineage of Prince Zhu Qian of Min, Zhu Zigui’s branch of the Zhu family continued to reside and prosper in Tangpo, Ansha, Hunan, and became an important ancestral line of Zhu Rongji’s family.
