Zhang Le Yi, a native of Jiujiang, was former wife of Song Ziwen. They met and married while building a villa. After marriage, she actively engaged in politics and family business, dedicated to women's and Christian causes, and accompanied Soong Ching-ling in visiting the 19th Route Army. In 1948, she served as president of the Guangdong Province Xin Yun Women’s Committee, promoting maternal and child affairs and establishing a children’s welfare station. On the eve of the nationwide liberation, Zhang Le Yi left Guangzhou with her husband and settled in New York. In 1971, her husband Song Zi Wen passed away unexpectedly. In her later years, she suffered from Parkinson’s disease and passed away in New York in 1988. Deeply connected to her homeland, Zhang Le Yi was committed to cultural exchange; in 1993, she organized the "Last Emperor’s Life and Cultural Relics Exhibition," which drew widespread attention. She and Song Zi Wen had three daughters: the eldest, Song Qiong Yi; the second, Song Man Yi; and the youngest, Song Rui Yi. Her father, Zhang Mou Zhi, was the founder of a well-known construction company in Jiujiang and maintained a broad social circle.
