Introduction

Hung Tin-ming, born July 1, 1974 in Hong Kong, China. His father is Sammo Hung (Hung Kam-bo), a well-known martial arts choreographer and actor, and his mother is Cao Enyu. Hung grew up on film sets and was exposed to movie work from an early age. At 16 he returned to Hong Kong from Canada and made his first film appearance as a stunt double for Takeshi Kaneshiro. At 21 he gave up his studies in the United States and returned to Hong Kong to pursue an acting career; he was initially discovered by a record company while out with friends and thus entered the entertainment industry.

Hung’s performing career began in 1995 when he debuted in the film Explosive Order. Two years later he played the role of Weng Jiaqin in the TV series Criminal Investigation Files III, marking his official debut and gradually attracting attention. That same year he took part in a special performance at Hung Hom Coliseum with Jordan Chan and Ekin Cheng, one of his early important appearances. In 1999 he appeared in the film Criminal Investigation Files 4 starring Louis Koo, portraying Hung Zhi-tao.

In 2000 Hung played the role of Hung Kam-bo in the TV series The Jobless Tenants, showing a broader range of acting. That year his series Sparks of Love aired, and he drew attention for demonstrating judo skills off-screen. Afterwards Hung moved into hosting, presenting programs such as Charity Happy Million Show and the TVB Children’s Day Ambassador program.

In 2004 he co-starred with his father Sammo Hung in the comedy film The Heavenly Chef, playing Chow Yan-chi, an aspiring chef. After that he made a cameo in New Police Story starring Jackie Chan and Nicholas Tse, gradually earning better acting evaluations. In 2005 he played a drug offender in the action film SPL: Kill Zone, a standout performance. In the following years he took part in several action and thriller films, including Flash Point, the Ghost Eye Cop series, Crouching Tiger and others.

From 2009 to 2010 Hung continued to appear in numerous productions such as The Money Empire and The Nurturing Wife. In 2011 he starred in the film The Boxer, attempting martial arts scenes for the first time after an eight-month recovery from a leg injury. That year he also played Xiao Yao in the costume fantasy series Monk Jigong 2, gaining some attention for the role. In 2012 he continued in Monk Jigong 3, with further recognition for his performance.

In 2013 he appeared in the films Fatal Flash Play and Ip Man: The Final Fight, playing Rubber and Liang Shuang respectively, showcasing diverse character portrayals. From 2014 to 2015 he played Chief Inspector Pan Zilong of the Elite Force in TVB’s anniversary drama Tiger Cubs II, and he portrayed Chan Tai-man in the series The Fixer, earning audience praise and a Best Supporting Actor nomination. Since then he has continued to appear in films including Shock Wave 2, Detective vs Sleuths, and Project Gutenberg 3: Exiled.

Hung Tin-ming’s body of work spans film, television, and variety shows, covering genres such as action, comedy, and suspense. Family-wise, his father is Sammo Hung; he has two younger brothers, Hung Tin-cheung and Hung Tin-chiu, and a sister Hung Hsu-yu. In 2008 he married Chow Ka-wai and they have two sons: the eldest, Hung Da-ren, born in 2013, and the younger, Hung Jing-xuan, born in 2015.
