Xi Zannong

Xi Zannong, also known publicly as Li Ming, was born in 1970. He is of Han ethnicity, a member of the Chinese Communist Party, and holds a graduate degree from the Central Party School. He is the son of Xi Zhengning, the eldest son of Xi Zhongxun, which makes him the half-nephew of Xi Jinping and Xi Yuanping.

Xi Zannong began his career in 1988 and gradually built his professional experience within China’s customs system. In 1998, he was transferred to the Shenzhen Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau as a deputy division-level cadre. He later served as Director and Inspector General of the Jiangmen Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau, while also holding concurrent positions as a member of the Customs Party Committee and Secretary of the Bureau’s Party Leadership Group, reaching a deputy department-level rank.

For external purposes, he uses the name Li Ming. In recent years, he has served as a member of the Party Committee and Director of the Anti-Smuggling Bureau at Zhuhai Gongbei Customs in Guangdong Province, continuing to play an active role in China’s customs enforcement system.

Through his long career in anti-smuggling operations, Xi Zannong has not only extended the political legacy of his family but has also contributed directly to safeguarding China’s economic security and combating smuggling-related crimes.
