Akiko Iwasaki

is the daughter of Toshiya Iwasaki, a Japanese businessperson who lived from 1881 to 1930. She is the granddaughter of Iwasaki Yanosuke, a Japanese banker, and the great-granddaughter of Miwa Iwasaki, who lived from 1814 to 1900. She is also the great-great-granddaughter of Iwasaki Yatarō, a Japanese industrialist and founder of Mitsubishi. Katō Haruji, a Japanese politician who lived from 1865 to 1926, is her maternal ancestor, being the daughter of Iwasaki Yatarō and the wife of Katō Takaaki.
