Natsu Hamaguchi (born February 12, 1873 – March 22, 1956) was a Japanese politician, the wife of Yŭhō Hamaguchi. She was from Tano Town, Kōchi Prefecture.
Life and Family Background
Natsu Hamaguchi was born in 1873 (Meiji 6) in Tano Village, Kōchi Prefecture (now Tano Town) as the eldest daughter of Yoshitachi Hamaguchi, an established family. Her birthplace was in the Tano region of Kōchi Prefecture, and her family held a certain standing within the local community.
Marriage and Family
In 1889 (Meiji 22), at the age of 16, Natsu Hamaguchi married Yūhō Hamaguchi. Yūhō Hamaguchi later became Japan's 27th Prime Minister, and through this marriage, she joined the Hamaguchi family. Yūhō Hamaguchi became a son-in-law of the Hamaguchi family.
Children
The couple had a total of seven children. Their eldest son, Yūhiko Hamaguchi, served as the president of the Bank of Tokyo. Their second son, Iwao Hamaguchi, became the president of the Nippon Credit Bank.
Death
Natsu Hamaguchi died on March 22, 1956, from cardiac failure at her home in Zaimokuza, Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture. She was 83 years old.
