Introduction
Wakiko Ōkubo was born in May 1891 and is the wife of Toshikata Ōkubo. Toshikata Ōkubo was the son of Ōkubo Toshimichi, a prominent figure who led the Meiji Restoration and is regarded as one of the main founders of modern Japan. Makino Nobuaki, another notable figure, was the son of Ōkubo Toshimichi and lived from 1861 to 1949. Yukiko Yoshida, the daughter of Makino Nobuaki, was born in 1889 and died in 1941. She was the mother of Kazuko Asō, who was born in 1915 and died in 1996. Kazuko Asō was the mother of Tarō Asō, who served as Prime Minister of Japan from 2008 to 2009.
