Introduction
Hubert George Beaumont was born on 6 April 1864. He was the third son of Wentworth Beaumont, 1st Baron Allendale, and Lady Margaret Anne de Burgh, daughter of Ulick de Burgh, 1st Marquess of Clanricarde. Beaumont attended Eton College and later Cheltenham College. He pursued higher education at Balliol College, Oxford, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.
On 26 May 1900, Hubert Beaumont married Elisa Mercedes Grace, daughter of Michael Paul Grace. She died by drowning on 10 August 1917. They had a single son, Michael Wentworth Beaumont.
In recognition of his service or standing, Beaumont was invested as a Knight of Grace of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem in 1918. In the following year, he was appointed High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire.
Beaumont engaged in a political career as a member of the British Liberal Party. He contested parliamentary elections in the following constituencies: King's Lynn in 1895, Buckingham in 1900, and Barnard Castle in 1903. He successfully became a Member of Parliament in 1906, representing Eastbourne. He served in this capacity until January 1910, when he chose not to stand for re-election. During this period, he served briefly alongside his older brother, Wentworth Beaumont, in the House of Commons.
Additionally, Beaumont participated in local government election activities, contesting the 1913 London County Council election as a Progressive candidate for Clapham.
He passed away on 14 August 1922.
