Madam Fan (1873–1956) was a native of Antie Village, Touqiao Town, Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province. She was the wife of Jiang Shixi (originally named Jiang Shaoyue), the renowned physician and cultural figure from Jiangdu. In 1893, at the age of 20, she married Jiang Shixi, then 24, and together they shared a life of mutual support and dedication.

Madam Fan was known for her gentle and virtuous character. She was skillful with her hands, sincere, modest, and wise, earning the praise and respect of her community. She not only managed the household with diligence but also provided quiet support to her husband’s medical practice and his pursuits in poetry, calligraphy, painting, and music, ensuring a stable foundation for the family.

Together, Madam Fan and Jiang Shixi had seven children. She placed great emphasis on moral upbringing and hard work in her children’s education, helping to preserve and pass down the Jiang family traditions. As a devoted wife and mother, she played a vital role in sustaining the household and enabling her husband’s social and cultural contributions.

Madam Fan passed away in 1956 at the age of 83. Her life was simple yet fulfilling, embodying the virtues of a traditional exemplary wife and mother, and she remains an indispensable part of the Jiang family’s history.
