Tōichi Miyagawa

Sun Yat-sen's Japanese-born grandson, born in 1928, is the grandson of Sun Yat-sen. His mother was Fumiko Miyagawa, who was born in 1906 and passed away in 1990. She was Sun Yat-sen's eldest daughter and was born to his Japanese wife, Sōkō Otsuki. Fumiko Miyagawa was born in Yokohama and became a symbolic representative of Sun Yat-sen's marriage to his Japanese wife. Later, Fumiko Miyagawa became an adopted daughter of the Miyagawa family; her exact relationship was only revealed when she was 30 years old—that she was Sun Yat-sen's grandson.

This grandson completed university studies in 1956. After graduation, he served as a representative of the Miyagawa Management Research Office, mainly involved in the alcohol and processed food industries, possessing professional knowledge in these fields. Over the years, he accumulated extensive experience in Japan's alcohol and food industries and has gained a certain influence within these sectors.

In 2008, he published a book titled "Sun Wen’s Daughter and Grandson Who Remained in Japan," which detailed Sun Yat-sen's history in Japan and the stories of his family members. The book aims to introduce Sun Yat-sen's family connections and his historical impact and influence in Japan.

In 2009, he participated in a film interview in Shinjuku for a documentary titled "Sun Wen — The Man Who Witnessed a Century Ago." During the interview, he shared stories about Sun Yat-sen’s historical events, as well as his own life experiences and paths to success, demonstrating his understanding of Sun Yat-sen’s history and his personal growth. These activities have contributed to the research and dissemination of Sun Yat-sen’s legacy in Japan.
