Introduction
Sir Reginald Adrian Berkeley Sheffield, 8th Baronet DL, was born on 9 May 1946. He is a British hereditary titleholder and the father of Samantha Cameron, the wife of David Cameron, a former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and former Foreign Secretary.
Sheffield received his education at Eton College. He is the son of Edmund Sheffield and Nancy Soames. He inherited the baronetcy in 1977 following the death of his uncle, Sir Robert Sheffield, the 7th Baronet.
In 1969, Sheffield married Annabel Jones, with whom he had two daughters: Samantha Cameron and Emily Sheffield. His marriage to Annabel Jones concluded with his second marriage in 1977 to Victoria Penelope Walker. With Walker, he fathered two daughters and one son.
He served as a Conservative Councillor on Humberside County Council between 1985 and 1993. Sheffield is the owner of Sutton Park in Yorkshire and is a director of the Normanby Estate Company Ltd.
Sheffield is a member of several gentleman's clubs, including White's, Pratt's, and the Beefsteak Club. In 2011, The Daily Telegraph reported that he received approximately £350,000 annually from eight wind turbines situated on his Normanby Hall estate.
