Introduction
Maud Cavendish (1896β1975) was a noblewoman and the daughter of Evelyn Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire. Evelyn Cavendish was the wife of Victor Cavendish, the 9th Duke of Devonshire. Dorothy Macmillan, also a noblewoman and English socialite, was another daughter of Evelyn Cavendish and the wife of Harold Macmillan, who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1957 to 1963.
