Introduction
Liao Huainan, born in China, possesses significant historical and political influence within his family background. His great-grandparents were pioneers of the Xinhai Revolution. Among family members are his father, Liao Hui, who served as Vice Chairman of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and his mother, Zhao Ruheng, who was previously the director of the Central Ballet Troupe. During his upbringing, Liao Huainan inherited his family's political and artistic traditions, but his career path has leaned towards the media and cultural industries.
He studied in the United States and returned to China, where he held important positions in various media and publishing organizations. These include serving as an assistant president at Condé Nast Publishing Group, participating in the planning and execution of major events such as Vogue China. Subsequently, he worked at Sunshine Satellite TV and Phoenix Satellite TV, serving as Cultural Development Company’s Multimedia and Arts Director. During his tenure at Phoenix New Media, he hosted and produced China’s first internet interactive drama focusing on youth trends, titled "Yeah," which received praise in Southeast Asian countries. Additionally, he produced a documentary called "50 Years of Dream Building Ballet," which aired on "Phoenix Perspective" and is stored in the archives of the China National Ballet.
In business development, Liao Huainan led the founding of "Bozhi Film and Television," which focuses on investing in and producing Chinese original IP and international collaborations. In 2013, the company collaborated with Anthony Films and Yindu Media to release the Hong Kong police-and-robbery film "Storm," which is regarded as marking a new era for Hong Kong films blending Hollywood-style action, earning positive reviews.
His career continued to advance; in 2017, he was invited to serve as General Manager of Youku Animation Center of Alibaba Cultural and Entertainment Group, promoting numerous international cooperation projects. In 2018, he was appointed to the Expert Committee of "Guoman Think Tank" at China Animation Group. In 2021, he joined D1M E-commerce and founded Chaoyuan Yu Brand Management to promote the international spread of Chinese youth culture. The same year, he also became an invited art consultant for the national-level "He Xiangning Art Museum."
In his personal life, Liao Huainan is best known for his wedding on June 2, 2012, held near Beijing, where he married Taiwanese actress Wu Chenjun. The wedding paid great attention to detail, with many friends and family attending in support. It was simple and solemn; during the ceremony, the groom sang Jacky Cheung’s "Love Is Eternal" to express his feelings. After marriage, Wu Chenjun expressed that her husband is caring and provides a sense of security, and both look forward to facing the future together.
