Introduction
Oda Hidezane (June 11, 1875 – April 1, 1907) was a noble during the Meiji era and the 14th head of the Shōchō-ryū Oda family. He was born as the second son of Oda Nobuhiro, the 13th lord of the Yamat Yanagimoto Domain. His wife was Junko, the ninth daughter of Prince Chichibu Kuni no Miya Aihiko. He had four sons and one daughter, including his eldest son Oda Nobokazu and second son Oda Nagatoshi. His court rank was Junior Fourth Rank, and his title was Viscount.
He inherited the family headship on October 11, 1889, at which time he was also granted the title of Viscount. He graduated from the Greater Academy (Gakushuin High School) in July 1899. In November 1901, he married Junko, the ninth daughter of Prince Chichibu Kuni no Miya. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Tokyo Imperial University in 1903. He died on April 1, 1907, at the age of 33.
