Introduction
Jane Charlotte Elizabeth van Koughnet (1850β1941) was the daughter of Jane Grimston, a British courtier, and a descendant of the Jenkinson family through her grandmother Charlotte Jenkinson, a noblewoman who lived from 1783 to 1863. Her great-grandfather was Charles Jenkinson, the 1st Earl of Liverpool, a British politician, and her granduncle was Robert Jenkinson, the 2nd Earl of Liverpool, who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1812 to 1827.
