Introduction
Morton Kelsall Peto was born in 1845 and died in 1921. He was the son of Samuel Morton Peto, a British politician, building contractor, and railway contractor born in 1809 and deceased in 1889. Ann Peto, his sister, was the daughter of Samuel Morton Peto and died in 1887. Ann Peto was married to James Alexander Campbell, a Scottish businessman and politician, who was the son of Janet Bannerman, a woman who died in 1873. Henry Campbell-Bannerman, the British Prime Minister from 1905 to 1908, was also a descendant of Janet Bannerman.
