Introduction
Gen Zabu Duojiji (?–1760), of the Borjigit clan, was a noble of the Tushiyetu Khan tribe, the eldest son of Tushiyetu Khan Dundubu Duojiji and Princess Kelun Kejing. There are no definite records of his birth date, and his childhood and early life are also lacking clear documentation in existing historical sources. It is known only that his lineage stems from the noble aristocracy of the Tushiyetu Khan tribe, with his maternal line from Princess Kelun Kejing and paternal line from Dundubu Duojiji, indicating a noble family background with high status.
In the first year of the Yongzheng Emperor’s reign (1723), Gen Zabu Duojiji married Princess Gege of the Aisin Gioro clan, a granddaughter of Dorgon. Through this marriage, he was granted the title of First-Class Graceful Prince (Worashuang Efu), marking his position within the Qing aristocracy and his familial alliance with the imperial family. Subsequently, he assumed responsibilities within the noble hierarchy of the Tushiyetu Khan tribe, participating in the management and coordination of tribal affairs.
In the twenty-second year of the Qianlong Emperor’s reign (1757), he succeeded as Zha Sake of the central banner of the Tushiyetu Khan tribe, becoming a Gushan Beizi (a noble title), responsible for territorial governance, tribal matters, and military command. This title and the division of the banner lands (central banner, Zhasa Sake, Gushan Beizi, etc.) reflect his rank and position within the tribe’s hierarchical and power structure. His status and influence held considerable significance within the aristocratic system of the Tushiyetu Khan tribe.
He died in the twenty-fifth year of the Qianlong Emperor’s reign (1760). Gen Zabu Duojiji fathered seven sons. His son, Che Budeo Duojiji, inherited the Gushan Beizi title, continuing the family tradition of hereditary leadership in that position. His brother, Ge Zhai Duojiji, inherited the Zhasa Sake title and was officially granted the rank of Duke, demonstrating his prominent status among his peers and formal recognition from the court.
The above records primarily reflect the facts concerning Gen Zabu Duojiji's marriage, noble titles, and familial succession during the Yongzheng and Qianlong periods, as well as his role and influence within the aristocracy of the Tushiyetu Khan tribe.
