Akiko, Princess Shige

Princess Shōko Naishinnō (Akiko Naishinnō, August 3, 1881 – September 6, 1883) was a member of the Japanese imperial family. She was the third daughter of Emperor Meiji and her mother was Lady Chigusa Nyōin, the eldest daughter of the Lord of the Chigasaki estate. In terms of sibling relations, she was the full sister of Princess Masu Miya Akiko.

Life

Princess Shōko Naishinnō was born on August 3, 1881 (Meiji 14) as the third imperial daughter (sixth child) of Emperor Meiji and Lady Chigusa Nyōin. Details of her birthplace and specific location of birth are not recorded, but it is known that she was born into the Japanese imperial family.
