David Lauren

David Lauren, born in 1971, is an American businessman known for his roles within the Ralph Lauren Corporation and his involvement in various strategic and philanthropic initiatives. He is the son of designer Ralph Lauren and Ricky Ann (née Loew-Beer), with his maternal heritage including Jewish and Catholic immigrant roots from Austria. Lauren has two siblings: an older brother and a younger sister, Dylan Lauren.

He completed his higher education at Duke University, where he studied political science. During his time at Duke, he founded Swing, a lifestyle magazine targeted at Generation X; the magazine was subsequently published by Hachette Filipacchi Médias.

Professionally, Lauren holds the positions of Chief Innovation Officer, Strategic Advisor to the CEO, Head of the Ralph Lauren Foundation, and Vice Chairman of the Board at Ralph Lauren Corporation. His previous role included serving as Executive Vice President responsible for Global Advertising and Marketing. In 2000, he orchestrated the launch of RalphLauren.com and the Ralph Lauren Media division, where he introduced the concept of "merchan‑tainment," which combines merchandising with entertainment. His initiatives at Ralph Lauren include the development of mobile applications, the creation of the Rugby Ralph Lauren brand, and the formation of partnerships with Olympic teams. In 2007, he was recognized as "Marketer of the Year" by Daily News Record, although specific details of the citation are no longer available. Lauren joined the Ralph Lauren Corporation's board of directors in 2013.

Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Lauren is actively involved in philanthropy. He serves as president of the Polo Ralph Lauren Foundation and has supported numerous charitable activities. Since 2023, he has been a member of the board of trustees at NewYork–Presbyterian Hospital.

In his personal life, David Lauren married Lauren Bush on September 4, 2011. Lauren Bush, the granddaughter of former U.S. President George H. W. Bush, is his spouse. The couple has three sons: James Richard, born in 2015; Max Walker, born in 2018; and Robert Rocky, born in 2021.
