Introduction

De Hui, Boluo Te Shi, was a prince consort during the Qing Dynasty. He was born in the 18th century and died in 1865. His family belonged to the first-rank noble family of Chengyong Gong Ban Di descendants. His father was Chengyong Gong Yu Heng’s son. In the noble hierarchy of the Qing Dynasty, De Hui held a certain status and was appointed to the position of San Zhi Da Chen (an administrative rank). Details about his education, place of birth, and other personal information are not explicitly recorded in existing historical materials. The relevant records mainly appear in family genealogies and imperial marriage records.

In the eleventh month of the second year of the Tongzhi reign (November 1863), De Hui married the ninth daughter of Emperor Daoguang, Princess Shou Zhuang Heshuo. This marriage made De Hui a member of the imperial marriage alliance network, fulfilling the ceremonies and duties associated with his status as a prince consort. This marriage was established during the Tongzhi period; however, detailed accounts of the specific ceremony and location are limited in public records, which primarily cite the date.

In the first month of the fourth year of the Tongzhi reign (1865), De Hui passed away. He had no children; his heir was a nephew, a detail that appears in the records and indicates the continuation method of the family genealogy and noble title. After De Hui’s death, the family line continued through the inheritance by his close nephew’s lineage, and the records of his marriage to the imperial princess are mainly traced through this relationship. There are no specific historical records of his involvement in military or political activities. The descriptions of his identity and status mainly derive from his marriage to the daughter of Emperor Daoguang and his official position as a San Zhi Da Chen.
