Mary Hardin Hardeman

Mary Hardin Hardeman was the mother of Thomas J. Hardeman, a Texas soldier and politician who lived from 1788 to 1854. She was the wife of William Polk Hardeman, a brigadier general in the Confederate States Army, and the daughter of Ezekiel Polk, an American soldier and pioneer who lived from 1747 to 1824. Her lineage also includes James K. Polk, the 11th President of the United States, who was the son of Samuel Polk, and Mary Ophelia Hardeman, herself the daughter of Ezekiel Polk. Mary Hardin Hardeman passed away on May 24, 1798.
