Introduction
Liu Meng, born in China, has served in various military and diplomatic positions. Academically, he completed his undergraduate studies at Tsinghua University and furthered his education at military academies. His career has involved scientific research, troop command, and military diplomacy; he also served as a United Nations military observer. Liu Meng has held positions as the military attaché for the People's Republic of China in Finland and Estonia. Currently, he is a member of the Scientific Committee of the General Armament Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and also serves as Deputy Dean of the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute and as a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association.
Liu Meng's family background originates from the renowned Chinese military figure Marshal Liu Bocheng, who is his father. Liu Bocheng was born in 1892, joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1937, and was awarded the title of Marshal of the People's Republic of China in 1945. Liu Meng's mother is Wang Ronghua from Liuan, Anhui Province. She served as an advisor at the General Staff Department of the Central Military Commission and passed away in Beijing on May 27, 2008.
Liu Meng has several siblings, some of whom have made notable contributions in the military. His elder brother Liu Taihang served as deputy director of a research institute of the Air Force and as deputy head of the armored forces operations department. Another brother, Liu Miqun, is a major general at the Air Force Command College and serves as deputy dean. Liu Jiexian is a doctor at Beijing General Logistics Hospital. Liu Yanling has worked in the nuclear medicine department at the PLA General Hospital and is a member of the Nuclear Medicine Professional Committee of the Beijing Medical Association. There is also Liu Huabei, who was assassinated in Yan'an in 1945 at a nursery school, and did not grow into a full member. Liu Tai Chi is also a major general and served as deputy head of the Equipment Department of the Air Force Command.
In cultural activities, Liu Meng was interviewed by Party history expert Xue Qingchao on People's Net in 2012, during the 120th anniversary of Marshal Liu Bocheng's birth. On March 23, 2015, Liu Meng, accompanied by his wife, visited Chigan Mountain in Shexian County, Hebei Province, to pay respects to Marshal Liu Bocheng and visited the Eighth Route Army 129th Division Memorial Hall.
