Thomas Pitt is the father of Robert Pitt, a British politician, who in turn is the father of William Pitt, the 1st Earl of Chatham, a British statesman who served as Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1766 to 1768. William Pitt the Younger, also a British statesman, was the son of William Pitt, the 1st Earl of Chatham, and lived from 1759 to 1806.
