Richard L. Maury

Richard L. Maury is an American lawyer and confederate soldier, and the son of Ann Hull Maury. His maternal grandfather is Dabney Herndon, who lived from 1783 to 1824. Ann Hull Maury is the daughter of Dabney Herndon, making Richard L. Maury the grandson of Dabney Herndon. William Lewis Herndon, the son of Dabney Herndon, was an American explorer and the father of Ellen Lewis Herndon Arthur. Ellen Lewis Herndon Arthur was married to Chester A. Arthur, who served as President of the United States from 1881 to 1885.
