Lv Tongyan

Tongyan Lü, female, born in China, is the daughter of the founding lieutenant general Lü Zhengcao. In 1963, she was admitted to the Department of Biology at Peking University, and later graduated from China Medical University. Her academic experience mainly focuses on life sciences and medicine.

During the Cultural Revolution, after completing her studies, Tongyan Lü was assigned to work at a commune health center in northern Shaanxi Province. During her employment, her workplace was only five miles from the village where Deng Rong resided, and the two had close ties. During this period, she also expanded her social circle outside her professional work, assisting in introducing He Ping, the son of Vice Minister of Health He Biao, to Deng Rong. This act was recorded as playing the role of a matchmaker.

Family-wise, her father is the People's Liberation Army founding lieutenant general Lü Zhengcao, an important figure in China's military and political history. Her spouse is Ye Xuanji, and they have children: son Ye Xinyuan, son Ye Xinhua, and daughter Ye Lianru. Tongyan Lü's family has had a certain influence in modern Chinese history, with family members having played different social and professional roles over various periods.

Her family also includes four siblings: Lü Tongyu, Lü Tongyan, Lü Tongxin, and Lü Tonglin. Her career in medicine and public health is somewhat representative, reflecting her academic and professional experiences in these fields.
